This is a one day workshop in which participants are able to experiment with various presentation techniques and practice their skills in a supportive environment.

For a group of 3-6 participants

The workshop's aim is to help staff become more dynamic, compelling and effective when presenting to a group.

Its objectives are to increase confidence and levels of enjoyment; to explore elements of good story-telling, information giving and building of rapport; to become more self-aware; to harness one's natural strengths and abilities; to develop relaxation techniques and to create a personalised regime around preparation.

Participants are asked to bring and present one or two pieces, e.g. a speech, a report, a story, song or poem. With the group’s permission, the presentations may be filmed at various stages. A DVD of their progress is available at the end of the day. Participants are taken through a number of exercises designed to release inhibition, sharpen instinct and improve clarity. Techniques used in theatre work are employed, i.e. breath-control, voice projection and body language. Feedback is sought from the group and development areas are drawn up for each individual.
